These walks are arranged by the Wednesday Walking Group. All are welcome.

Meeting at 10:30am at a pub car park, ordering lunch at the pub prior to starting the walk at 11:00am. The walk will normally be up to 6 miles. Walking boots are recommended, it may be rough underfoot and may involve wet terrain. Suitable water proofs, warm clothing and refreshment should always be taken.

You participate in these walks entirely at your own risk.

1. When parking, please park away from the pub entrance, leaving room for other customers. Or if parking on the road avoid blocking peoples drives!
2. Respect all other people on the walk.
3. When walking on roads without footpaths, please walk single file on the right facing oncoming traffic.
4. Ensure that person behind you knows when you turn off a road or track.
5. Do not leave opened gates unattended, close them if the next group of people are not close.
6. Remember footpaths are maximum 1 metre wide. Do not trample crops beside the path!
7. Dogs should be kept on a lead and under close control at all times, especially when near livestock,
which includes farm and wild animals.
8. Take all banana skins and orange peel home with you. If left they will remain rotting and messing up the environment for several months!

Details of the walks and meeting point (with directions), Ordnance Survey Grid References and Sat Nav coordinates are given in (Degrees ), (Minutes ') and (Seconds ") are sent out the week before the walk by E-Mail. Clicking on the Map Ref will show a map.  
Please note in most areas Post Codes, if the road name and property number is not included, may be some distance from the meeting point and may be on a different road. Links may also be given to the pub and menu's.

Wednesday 9th March

The walk this Wednesday will meet at 10:30am at the White Crow, Chorley Road, Worthington, WN1 2XL. Map Ref SD528123 click for link to map. Sat Nav coordinates (N53 36' 21" W2 37' 56")

Directions:-
From M61 J8 take the A6 south through Chorley towards Bolton, through innumerable roundabouts, for about 2 miles. Turn right at the lights onto Wigan Lane A5106 (signed Chorley) about 1 mile after the last roundabout, which is just past Morrison's. Continue on the A5106 for about 2 miles.The car park is on the left just after the pub.
From M61 J6 take A6027 for mile. Turn right at roundabout onto A6 towards Chorley for about 6 miles. Turn left onto Wigan Lane A5106 (signed Chorley) for about 2 miles.The car park is on the left just after the pub.
From M6 J27 take A5209 for mile. Turn left onto A5029 for about mile and bear left into school Lane A5209. At A49 go straight ahead onto Market St B5239. Continue for 1 miles and turn left onto Chorley Rd A5106. After about 1 miles the car park is on the right just before the pub.

The walk will start at 11:00am promptly.

Lunch will be at the White Crow. Please order and pay for food before the walk.

Wednesday 16th March

The walk this Wednesday will meet at 10:30am at the Balcarres Arms,  1, Copperas Lane, Haigh, WN2 1LB. Map Ref SD607089 click for link to map. Sat Nav coordinates (N53 34' 35"  W2 35' 44").

Directions:-
From M61 J6 take the A6 north towards Chorley for about mile. Take Manchester Road B5408 towards Blackrod then in 100 yards turn left onto Scot Lane B5238 towards Aspull. After just over 1 mile take 2nd exit on roundabout, Haigh Road B5239 the pub ahead after about mile. The pub car park is on the right and behind the pub. The pub car park is quite small, consider car sharing, some road side parking neqarby.

The walk will start at 11:00am promptly and return for Lunch at 1:30 to 1:45pm. 

Lunch will be at the Balcarres Arms. Please order and pay for the food before the walk.

Wednesday 23rd March

The walk this Wednesday will meet at 10:30am at the Hoghton Arms,  Blackburn Rd, Withnell, PR6 8BL. Map Ref SD629243 click for link to map. Sat Nav coordinates (N53 42' 49" W2 33' 47").

Directions:-
From M65 J3 take A674 towards Chorley for about 100 yards. The Pub is on the left.
From M61 J8 take A674 towards Blackburn for about 4 miles.The pub is on the right 100 yards before the roundabout.

The walk will start at 11:00am promptly, be about 5 miles returning for Lunch at 1:30 to 1:45pm. 

Lunch will be at the Hoghton Arms. Please order and pay for the food before the walk.

Wednesday 30th March

The walk this Wednesday will meet at 10:30am at the Rock Inn, Tockholes, BB3 0LU. Map Ref SD663233 click for link to map. Sat Nav coordinates (N53 42' 21" W2 30' 43").

Directions:-
From M65 J3 take the A675 towards Bolton (passing through Abbey Village), after about 4 miles turn left to Tockholes, past the visitor centre and the Royal Arms, continue through the village and in about 3 miles the Rock Inn is on the left.
From M65 J4 take the road towards Darwen and turn right at the lights.Take the first left under the motorway bridge to Tockholes. At the cross roads by the pub turn left and over the motorway. The Rock Inn is on the right shortly after entering the village.

The walk will start at 11:00am promptly and return for Lunch at 1:30 to 1:45pm. 

Lunch will be at the Rock Inn. Please order and pay for food before the walk.

Wednesday 6th April

The walk this Wednesday will meet at 10:30am at The Priory Inn, The Square, Scorton PR3 1AU. Map Ref SD502488 click for link to map. Sat Nav coordinates (N5356'00" W245'33").

Directions:-
From M6 J32 (take care here not to end up in Blackpool), on the slip road initially move left for A6 Garstang until you have passed the entry point to the M55, then move right to take the A6 Garstang, pass through the traffc lights at Garstang approx 8.5 miles. Then after 0.6 miles turn right down Gubberford Lane to Scorton. At 1.5 miles the Priory Inn is in the centre of the village on the right. The entrance to the car park is up the LHS of Stouts Bar. Please pack tight, car share if possible, if not eating please park on roadside.
From M6 J33 turn left at end of slip road. At 3 miles turn left 200 metres after ESSO station into (narrow) Station Lane. At 200metres bare right over river, continue 0.6 miles to centre of village, turn right Pub is 20m on left. The entrance to the car park is up the LHS of Stouts Bar. Please pack tight, car share if possible, if not eating please park on roadside.

The walk will start at 11:00am promptly and is approx 6.2 miles including 'Nicky Nook' returning for Lunch about 1:45pm.

Lunch will be at the The Priory Inn. Please order and pay for the food before the walk.
