Please try to arrive there a bit earlier so that you are ready to leave at that time. It will not be possible to delay the start of the walk for more than a few minutes.

Meet at lay-by by Lathom Park Chapel on B5240.
Exit M6 at J27 and take A5209 towards Newburgh and Ormskirk. Shortly after passing through Newburgh turn left onto B5240 (Hall Lane). Meeting point is first lay-by on left, and has grass verge between it and main road.

Moderate all day Lake District walk on woodland, low fell and field paths starting from Duddon Bridge, to Duddon Furnace, the summit of Barrow (886ft) Windy Slack, Fenwick, Swinside Stone Circle (it’s as good as Castlerigg!) Lady Hall and returning via the Duddon Channel (no you won’t get your feet wet, I promise!). 8 miles. Dogs on leads. Pub at end  The High Cross Inn.

From M6 J36, follow road left down to Brettargh Holt roundabout and turn left, follow A590 Barrow signs. Pass thru Newby Bridge, turn Right at Greenodd A5092. Stay on this road, Do not turn off for Coniston. Pass thru Beanthwaite and Foxfield to Duddon Bridge. Go thru lights over bridge and turn off right, signed Corney Fell. Parking area is on left 100yds past Duddon Furnace.

Meet in Hawkshaw Lane, park clear of drives.
From M65 J5 take B6232 towards Haslingden, turn right at Holden Wood signed Helmshore Textile museum. Carry straight on over moor to Holcombe Village. Through village, down hill to junction with A676. Turn right and follow road through to Hawkshaw. Hawkshaw Lane is after  the Wagon & Horses on right.
From Bolton take A676 from Bradshaw Bolton straight on to Hawkshaw. Hawkshaw Lane is before the Wagon & Horses on the left.
