Walking | Walks
for Next Program

New Walks Leaders are always Welcome
-
Contact the walks co-ordinator with your proposed walk details.
- Giving the day, date and starting time for the walk.
The time given is the starting time for the walk, members are
encouraged to be there before that time so that registration etc. can be
completed prior to commencing the walk. The time that a walk can be delayed
for people arriving late is rather limited.
- A short description of your walk will be required to cover its grade,
nature of terrain and scenery, names of highpoints or destinations, any
restrictions (no dogs etc), ascent to be made if considered necessary, the
mileage and whether a pub/tea shop call is envisaged, either during or after
the walk. Your name and a contact number. Details as per Walks
for Next Program page.
- Directions to the meeting/starting point with road numbers and where possible and an indication of any parking costs
and any other information NT, P&D.
- The full OS
grid reference complete with the prefix letters followed by the Easting then
Northings. Details can be found on all OS maps.
- The OS Explorer maps to be used on the walk when possible, or which ever
map you are using.
- When planning your walk please assess its grade, length,
description, ascents and any other useful details so members or prospective
members can judge if
they are capable of managing the walk.
- Most walks, both full day and part day usually finish about 4 to 5pm. Any
departure from this norm must be specified in the description.
- Details must be submitted no later than January 15th for the Spring
programme, May 15th for the Summer programme and September 15th for the
Winter programme.
- See examples on Walks
for Next Program page or see one of the current walks programs for details required.
Call 01254 680793 to discuss your ideas.
Please send your walk details by E-Mail to walks.coordinator@windebank.plus
com or walks.coordinator@nw-walking.org.uk
